Into the Bottle S12

The Union Army of the James, retiring across Proctor’s Creek in this vicinity after the battle of Drewery’s Bluff, May 16, 1864, turned east into the peninsula between the James and Appomattox Rivers, where it was bottled by Confederate Forces.
