A member of Watauga Association space 1772, he served with Bledsoe in 1777. In 1778 he took oath of allegiance to the state in Washington District Court of N.C. He joined a mountain man of John Sevier at King's Mountain and was later at the Battle of Boyd's Creek. He was deputy from Washington County to meet and convention at Jonesboro in 1784. The Treaty of Dumplin Creek was held at the home of Mayor Henry on June 10, 1785. He is buried in Henry Cemetery. On Bent Road, 1 mile west of Tennessee 139. Sevier County Tennessee
