Two miles west, the second Monday of September, 1795, the County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions first met at the home of Abram Wear. William Wallace was Chairman, John McKee, Clerk, and Littlepage Sims, Sheriff. Nine justices attended the first meeting.
