Jim Kuntz: ...
Would like to point out this is called the Daniel Boone Home, but it is not. Never has been. This is actually the home of Nathan Boone, Daniel's son. Daniel did die here, and at several times lived here off and on, but it is not his home. For a time Daniel lived in a log cabin at the rear of this property. When the Boone's came to the Femme Osage, Daniel was denied his claim to the Spanish Land Grant. Daniel's Sons, Nathan, Daniel Morgan, and Jesse, and Daniel's daughter and her husband Zander and Jemima Callaway did have their grants approved, as did Daniel's in-laws the Bryans (Near Marthasville). Because of the denial Daniel lived some with Nathan, some with others. Rebecca, Daniel's wife lived mainly with Jemima.
