Four Guardian Spirits Encircle the Tower of Liberty Memorial
The high ideals of patriotism, courage, sacrifice and honor were the basis for the creation of the Liberty Memorial following the end of World War I in 1918. Today the Liberty Memorial stands as a national monument to those who served in World War I. It serves to insure a legacy of hope for the peace and liberty for which they fought. Patriotism Patriotism is distinguished by a Civic Crown.
Courage Courage is crowned by a helmet.
Sacrifice Sacrifice is marked by a winged star on the forehead.
Honor Honor Wears a laurel wreath.
