This ground was acquired in 1921 through public subscriptions of the Citizens of Fulton and Callaway County
Dedicated in 1922 to the Soldiers, Sailors & Marines of Callaway Co. who served their country in the World War of 1917-1918 and whose names now appear on bronze tablets in the Callaway Co. Court House. [If you look behind and to the left of the left column, you can see a circle of raised earth. This is where a huge World War I cannon used to set. In the early days of World War II the cannon was donated in a scrape metal drive, and was melted down. After World War II, the Memorial Park was turned into what it is today, a baseball field.] The Citizens of the City of Fulton and Callaway County. 1922. Court St. & W. 2nd St., Fulton, Callaway County Missouri
