BUTTERFIELD OVERLAND MAIL
In Missouri -- 1858~1861

The John I. Smith Relay Station was 172½ miles
from the Tipton Terminus
and stood in northeast Barry County,
about 7 miles west of Crane.

Erected by the State Historical Society of Missouri, 1958.
