Organized ca. 1868, Belle Flower Black Baptist church in Grenada, served as a headquarters and meeting place for a number of organizations during the Civil Rights movement. From its pulpit such leaders as Andrew Young and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , prompted voter registration.
