Made capital of Louisiana in 1830; Legislature met here from January 4 to March 16 and reconvened in 1831. In 1848 the State House, located across from this site, was razed and it's bricks used to prevent wave wash at bayou's mouth. N 30° 06.283 W 090° 59.408
Located in the Government Park area, close to Court house. Ascension County Louisiana
