The Illinois * Iowa * Missouri area centered in Keokuk owes much to HUGH LINCOLN COOPER Engineer. Back by area business-men, he built, in three years, 1910 - 1913, the dam and powerhouse now operated by Union Electric Co. Cooper's accomplishment opened a new era of commercial, industrial and recreational progress throughout the area.
Erected in 1963, Fiftieth Anniversary year of the dam and powerhouse.
