The LaGrange Phalanx IN273

The Fourier System of communal living was attempted here between 1843 and 1848. Aproximately thirty families lived by rules established in councils of industry, commerce, justice and education. Their "new social order" was a failure.

Erected by Indiana Sesquicentennial Commission, 1966.
