Hines' Raid IN62

Confederate Captain Thomas Hines with fewer than 100 cavalrymen, crossed the Ohio River into Perry County June 17,1863, seeking horses. Warned here of impending ambush by Home Guards, they fled to upper Blue River Island where most were captured or killed June 19.
