Civil War Hospital IN317

Civil War Hospital, 1864-66. Site of Jefferson General Hospital, the third largest hospital in the United States during the Civil War. Under Dr. Middleton Goldsmith's command it served over 16,000 patients.

Erected by the Indiana Civil War Centennial Commission, 1962
